Douglas Brett BIOLLO

Peacefully, on September 19th, Mr. Douglas Brett  Biollo of Edmonton passed away at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Doug is lovingly remembered by his two sisters:  Marilyn (Peter) Sorochuk of Edmonton and Sr. Elaine Biollo of Kelowna, British Columbia.  Doug had three nieces, Christie McLeod and Michelle, Sheila (Biollo Sullivan) and four nephews: Bradley (Anita), Derek (Aesook), Craig, and Kent (Melania).

He was predeceased by his wife Barbara, his parents John and Catherine and three brothers: Kenneth, Roderick and John “Gary”.

He had attended St. Alphonse  and St. Joseph’s High School.  He worked for the Sun Newspaper and Eco-Medical Supply keeping the books.  He retired early because of health concerns.  He was a keen sports fan following the Oilers and Elks (Eskimos) for years.  He loved animals especially his cats of which he had many over the years.

From high school on, Doug had faithful friends who accompanied him through the ups and downs of life:  Tom (Maeve) Caruthers and Brian (Linda) Burns without whom he would have been lost.  We are very grateful to them.

During his final days in the hospital he received excellent care by the doctors and nurses who treated and him with respect and concern.

Cremation has taken place and an internment will follow at a later date in St. Joachim’s Cemetery, Edmonton.

    Dear Elaine,Marilyn & families,
My thoughts and prayers have been with you prior to Doug’s death and now in your grief, praying with you and for you with the consolation Doug is at rest.
My thoughts also go back to the number of times that I visited your family in Edmonton..always warmly received and well fed. I remember the river cruise we all took together. Barbara was there as well.
Doug has received much care from close friends and faithful family…a real blessing.
    Love, Susan Duggan, Dartmouth,Nova Scotia
