Surrounded by his loving family and friends, Wayne Brent lost his long battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on May 11, 2022 at the age of 68. Wayne will be remembered by his sons Don and Carl, their partners Michele and Misty, his grandchildren Domenic and Maxwell and his wife Marlene. He was predeceased by his mother Ethel, father Harry, and oldest brother Danny.

Wayne was born on September 20, 1953 and was the third of three boys and three girls. He spent his childhood in Edmonton, AB and raised his family in Barrhead, AB. Throughout his life Wayne was a generous man, always willing to help out friends and family. As his father and oldest brother were taken from this world too soon, he always took on a roll as caregiver to his; ensuring that his mom and siblings had his support throughout their lives when they needed it.

Wayne and Marlene enjoyed travel, and an early retirement allowed them many opportunities to explore the world and to spend their winters in warmer climes. Summers were spent at the campground hosting friends and families for campfires, card games and conversation. Wayne always loved being the life of the party! Although Wayne had a long 5+year battle with cancer, he made sure to continue to enjoy life until the very end.

Wayne spent his last days at Pilgrims Hospice in Edmonton and the amazing and compassionate staff did an excellent of giving him dignity and comfort in his final days while providing wonderful support for his family and friends to spend their final time with him.
