Paulette DONALDSON (Lemieux)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Paulette Donaldson (Lemieux). She passed away Wednesday September 1, 2021 after a short battle with cancer

Paulette was born in Redvers, SK on December 26, 1949 to Camille and Jeanne Lemieux (Bertholet). She was predeceased by both parents as well as siblings: Felix Lemieux, Clement (Brenda) Lemieux, Jeannine (Dennis) Hull, Raymond Lemieux, Laurent (Shirley) Lemieux and Colette (Robert) Duperreault.

She is lovingly remembered by her remaining siblings: Evelyn (Terry) Campbell, Suzanne (Rick) Metzger, Therese (Ken) Martel, Alphonse Lemieux, Valerie (Rick) Patron and Rosalie (Darrell) Robins. She was an aunt to 27 nieces and nephews, plus a numerous number of great nieces and nephews. Paulette also had many aunts, uncles and cousins, too many to list. however she had many fond memories of those she loved and was loved back; has left many wonderful memories for them to enjoy.

Paulette was raised on a farm in Alida, SK and has always had a love for the outdoors. She would spend hours outside maintaining the large backyard of her house where she lived in Edmonton AB. She moved to Edmonton in 1970 and lived there happily, spending time with her family and working two jobs she enjoyed. She was married for 18 years and had three daughters: Lisa Simon, Andrea (Bryan) Ahronson and Tara (Clarke) Jay. She had four grandchildren who were the joy of her life: Samuel A, Elyana J, Olive A and Paisley J.

A special mention to a son, Sean Hall, born in Regina SK in 1969. In November 2020 they were able to meet and hug for the first time! They were both looking forward to developing their relationship and creating a lasting bond.

Paulette was a hard worker her entire life. Starting on the farm, then when the family store “Lemieux Men’s & Ladies Wear” opened in 1964 she started working there as well. She had many jobs throughout her life but the longest lasting at over 30 years was school bus driving. She was still driving at the age of 72! She had also started working for Covenant Health part time within the last 5-7 years. She didn’t just work though, she had an active social life as well. She enjoyed spending time with friends, chatting and sometime watching the Oilers play while eating her favourite snack, popcorn. She was a wonderful grandmother, mother, sister and a loyal friend. She will be missed

Paulette requested no service or formal funeral. If you would like to honour her memory in another way a donation can be made to the Cancer Research Institute.

Sorry for your sudden loss of Paulette. She was very friendly and always eager to say hello to her fellow bus drivers. She loved to talk about her grandchildren. Paulette was incredibly dependable. We’ve especially missed her this fall and miss seeing her at the bus yard. May you be comforted during your time of grief.
