Kevin Joel HARTIN
It is with great sadness we let you know of the passing of Kevin Joel Hartin occurred on October 26, 2023 at the Sturgeon General Hospital in St. Albert, Alberta after a brave & courageous battle. Kevin was born in Toronto, Ontario, son of late parents, father Earl Dawson (Debbie) and mother Mary Ellen Sherman (Don).
Kevin grew up in St. Croix, New Brunswick where he worked & played on the St. Croix River. He lived in various areas in New Brunswick most his life and then moved to Alberta 13 years ago to where he recently resided in Bonnyville, Alberta for the past 8 years. He worked as a bus driver & then a truck driver where he met best friend Bob Hodgins who welcomed Kevin into his family and became honorary Uncle Kev to his boys. Kevin’s true passion & happy place was for his music and the joy his music family the Gypsy Renegades brought to him.
Kevin is survived by his sisters Lisa Sutherland and Tara Lindell and brother Eric Lounder (Ruth), nieces Jennifer Taylor (Brian) and Danielle Sutherland, great niece & nephew, Rosie & Gavin, and Step Grandmother, Effie Lounder.
Taken far too soon at the age of 61, Kevin was a kind & gentle soul who will be forever in our hearts.
Details of any Memorial Service will be provided at a later date.
For those who wish, in lieu of memorial donations, Kevin would be most happy if when you have the opportunity, you support a local band, live music or acknowledge a street musician.
So sorry to hear of Kevin’s passing. We were so fortunate to have grown up on the lakes, rivers and in the forests of New Brunswick with unrestricted roaming. Our condolences to the family and friends. John and I are thinking of each of you.
