Allen John HATT
It is with great sadness and much love that we say goodbye to Allen Hatt – beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Allen passed away on May 10, 2022 at the Drayton Valley Hospital. He will forever be in our hearts and memories.
Allen was born May 18,1952 in Edmonton to Eleanor and Ernie Hatt. He grew up on the family farm north of Alsike and attended school in Breton. He joined his dad and brother Willie on the family farm, working in the dairy barn, with the beef cattle and finally with the elk herd. In 2002, Allen started working in the oilfield as a pipeliner, a job that he enjoyed for the past 20 years and had hoped to continue to do for several more years.
Allen was an avid curler for many years and in his younger years was an avid ball player – participating in the local community league as part of the Alsike Coyotes.
Allen will be fondly remembered by his wife Cathy, son Justin, grandson Jase, mother Eleanor Hatt, brothers & Ron (Edna), and Willie (Roberta), sister Brenda (Bill), nephew Tyler, nieces Joanne, Diane, Tara (Aaron), Tanya (Paul) and Teneil (Andy), great nieces and great nephews and friends.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Drayton Valley Hospital and Winters Pharmacy staff and Doctor Frobb for their exceptional care given to Allen during the last few months.
At Allen’s final wish, there will be no Funeral Service. Instead, Allen’s family invites you to join them for an informal afternoon with refreshments on June 11, 2022 at 2-4 pm at the Breton Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Allen’s favorite charity – the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Dear Cathy and family
Sorry for your loss. May you find peace in your fond memories of Allen.
