Norma Joan Hohman passed away on October 2nd, in her 94th year, at the University Hospital in Edmonton after failing health over the last 12 months.
She is survived by her 3 sons, Don (Della), Gary (Carmen) and Lawry, 6 grandchildren, Cheryl (Kevin), Krista (Brian), Lisa (Shawn), Shaun (Mariana), Ryan (Natalie), Tyler (Stacey) and 17 great-grandchildren Malcolm, Makayla, Hailey, Cassidy, Jake, Ella, Owen, Levin, Nixon, Nala, Olivia, Carson, Adriana, Gabriella, Helena, Zack and Cole. Her family was the pride of her life; she loved them dearly. That love flowed back to her; they were a constant joy for Norma.
Norma was born in Herchel, Saskatchewan and moved to Luseland with her parents, Wib and Margaret White. There Wib owned and operated the Barber Shop and Pool Room. Norma attended high school at Luseland and worked at the Royal Bank. Norma married Howard Hohman in 1950, where they farmed in Luseland and were very involved in the community. Norma belonged to the United Church Women and was involved in bake sales, fowl suppers, along with many other events held at the Church Hall. She also belonged to the Eastern Star and the Kinette Club. Norma moved from Luseland to Edmonton in 1970, where she lived until her passing. However, her friendships made in Luseland never faded. Norma always looked forward to trips back to visit Grama Hohman, visit friends, and celebrate special occasions. Norma left Luseland, but it never left her heart. In the years following, she made more great friends with her caring way and friendly smile. Phone calls, cards and letters were the highlights of her day.
There will be no funeral at her request. A graveside remembrance for the family will be held in the future at the Luseland Cemetery. The family has requested that instead of flowers, please donate to a cause of your choice. Condolences for the family can be sent to Obituaries Pointe West Funeral.

Deepest sympathy to the Hohman clan. I’ll always remember Norma for her elegance, She definitely knew what she liked or didn’t like. I enjoyed her company as we explored different places around town for tea or lunch somewhere. We always found something to talk about. I’ll miss her.

My deepest condolences to the Hohman family on the loss of your matriarch – a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose love and pride for her family was always evident. I was blessed to know Mrs. Homan and will forever cherish the many times I was able to share conversation and laughter with her and Lawry.
