Siegfried Harry JANKE

October 30, 1929 – September 5, 2023

Peacefully on September 5, 2023, Siegfried Janke of Edmonton was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour. He was just 8 weeks shy of his 94 th birthday. The last years of his life were extremely difficult as his dementia continued to progress.

Siegfried is lovingly remembered by his 5 children, 11 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren: Harry (Leona), Ruth (Harry) Krentz, Edith Bornau, Karin (Erich) Hauf, and Norb (Tina); Kara (Dillon) Goshko, Jordan, Marcus, Kirsten (Kirk) Brooks, Joel, Reid (Morgan), Brooke (Layton) Green, Ryan (Nicole), Jared, Lucas, and Anna (Hunter) Stewart; Elias, Zeke, Bennett, Mack, Luke and William.

Siegfried was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Irene (Nelitz) in May 2012, his brother Bruno, his sister-in-law Ursula, his sister Zilla, and his brother-in-law Erhardt.

A Celebration of Siegfried’s life will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 11:00am at Terwillegar Community Church (1751 Towne Centre Blvd NW, Edmonton).  Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in Siegfried’s memory may make them to the Robin Hood Association by CLICKING HERE.

Siegfried’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff at Chartwell Emerald Hills and Good Samaritan Southgate for the exceptional care given to Siegfried.
