Agnes LEAKVOLD

On May 10, 2022, Agnes passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer.  Agnes was predeceased by her parents Maria and Alex, sisters Katherine and Jean, brothers John and Michael.  She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Audra (Martin), brother Bill (Marjorie), sisters Darlene and Doris, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Agnes had a passion for cooking. She loved to bake and cook for her family and friends and enjoyed sharing her culinary delights.  She was an expert perogy maker and perfected her dough to make them extra tasty.  Agnes also loved to dance and was a naturally creative person. She loved to sew, often sewing her own clothes.  Agnes loved to be around little kids and they loved her.  Her home was where family and friends often gathered for a meal and good company.  She loved to play cards and Yahtzee and often won.

To all the family and friends that made special trips to visit Agnes; know that she enjoyed seeing each of you.  Agnes handled her cancer with dignity and grace to her last day, with her daughter by her side holding her hands and comforting her.

Special thanks to Dr. Ying Yao for your kindness and to the Palliative Homecare Nurses Pod F for their excellent care, comfort, and kind words.  Also, thanks to the staff at the Grey Nuns Tertiary Palliative Unit for making her last days as comfortable as possible.

If you would like to make a donation in Agnes’ name, we ask that you please donate to the Cross Cancer Institute.

Cremation has taken place.  An intimate celebration of life will be held at later date.

    Audra,

My thoughts and prayers are with you, always. Auntie Agnes’s smile, work ethic, and amazing sense of humor were the greatest gifts she could share with me over the years. And for that I am deeply thankful.

    Love,

    Lane Pettit (Proud Nephew)
