Elizabeth Matthiesen (Cooper) 1951-2021

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Liz. She was born March 20, 1951 in Ashton-Under-Lyne, England. She died May 8, 2021, peacefully at home in Beaumont, AB surrounded by love at the age of 70.

​In 1971 she received her Diploma from The Society of Radiographers. She enjoyed being a radiographer and throughout the years worked in England, Denmark and Germany. She loved travelling and has lived in various countries. In 2010 she settled in Canada and rejoined 2 of her children.

She would spend countless days and nights working on her cross-stitching and created wonderful Advent’s calendars for her many grandchildren. Her favourite thing to do, was grab a cup of coffee along with a good book and sit outside in the sun. But no matter what, she would drop anything to help any one of her children. Whether it was with childcare, helping welcome a new grandchild or an ailing family member.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Martin (Jenn), Jenny (Trent), Jane (Fred), Julia (Andreas), Matthew, Magnus (Holly), Jaimie (Hewdie) and her grandchildren Jaidyn, Markus, Shea, Emma, Aston, Elanora, Amelina, Arden, Isadora, Thomas and Jasper. She also has family and friends that will miss her dearly.

She is predeceased by her father Alfred, mother Hilda, her brother John, her twin sister Anne and her grandson Callan.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
