Pastor Emad MORRIS

In celebration of the life of the beloved Pastor Dr. Emad Morris who went to join the Lord Jesus Christ in God’s everlasting kingdom on December 15, 2021. Pastor Dr. Emad Morris was born in Alexandria, Egypt in 1966 within a family of seven with an orthodox Christian background. He had four other siblings, two sisters and two brothers, and he was the oldest among his siblings. At a young age, he had the desire to do what’s right and to practice his Christian faith and please God and he became an altar boy. He eventually found that his own personal efforts to practice his religious duties and traditions did not bring him closer to God and give him peace with God until one of his uncles talked to him about receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior who has died for his sins and rose again. Soon after, Pastor Dr. Emad Morris accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior when he was fifteen. Afterwards, he had a passion to share and demonstrate the Lord Jesus with everyone he meets in Alexandria, Egypt and he was sharing gospel booklets at the Coptic churches in Egypt and at his school. He continued his secondary school in Alexandria, Egypt and finished with good grades. He then enrolled at the school of dentistry in Alexandria and went on to practice dentistry afterwards. He also preached often at a few different churches in Alexandria and he led prayer meetings. He applied for immigration to Canada afterwards with a keen desire to serve God in Canada on a full-time basis. Upon arrival in Canada in 1993, he initially worked in Edmonton in a group home taking care of seniors and people with special needs between 1993 and 1998 where he developed good relationships with many people at the group home and he shared the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ with them. While working at the group home, he reviewed the dentistry curriculum and finished the dentistry equivalent exams over a three year period. He worked afterwards at a clinic in the town of Bashaw, Alberta in 1998 as well as with a few different dentists in Edmonton. He started his own full-time dental practice in 2000 and kept practicing full-time dentistry for another 18 years, during which he studied Christian theology and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Christian theology. He became an ordained reverend for Christian ministry on November 16, 2014 and he was the lead pastor for the Christian Arabic Church of Edmonton. He ended his full-time dental practice in 2018 to devote most of his time for Christian ministry through the Arabic Christian Church of Edmonton. He led bible study sessions, counseling sessions, and annual Christian camps where he preached the Word of God passionately with a focus on the relationship between the believer and Jesus Christ and how to walk effectively with God. He left our earthly realm to join the Lord Jesus Christ on December 15, 2021. He is survived by his wife Mona Morris, his daughter Marianne Morris, his son Samuel (Majid) Morris, his granddaughters Julie and Joy, his father Morris Mosaad, his sisters Nermeen Morris and Neven Grece, and his brother Ramez Morris. His mother Enayat Shaker Girgis joined the Lord on September 1, 2019. His younger brother Bahgat Mosaad had joined the Lord in 2007.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Reverend Dr. Morris will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 1:00pm at Calvary Community Church, 8704 Millwoods Road.

Interment to follow at Rosehill Cemetery.

You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for you the crown of righteousness.

    Dear Pastor Dr. Emad Morris,
We have seen Jesus in you when:
    – You and Mona welcomed us with God’s love and kindness when we arrived to Edmonton in 2002
    – You helped us as new comers getting a job
    – You comforted us with both your gentle spirit and dentistry skills in many times of teeth distress
    – You insisted on refusing to get your dental fees when we did not have any benefits coverage
    – You were worshiping, preaching, praying and sharing the great good news of God’s love and salvation
While you are now celebrating God’s presence at your new address, you will be greatly missed here.
Our beloved Mona, Marianne, Samuel, Julie and Joy,
Our hearts are with you , praying for God’s peace and comfort during this difficult time.
    Jesus has risen!
    He has risen indeed!

Our friend and pastor Dr. Emad:
Your departure is a painful one. You will be greatly missed! You touched our hearts and lives.

Everyone who knew you is a better person today because of what you taught and how much you cared. We saw Jesus in you. We saw His love and compassion in you. You always preached with a smile because you delivered the Good News of eternal life. And now our friend, you live forever, with no tears and no pain.

Thank you for praying for me; you’ve changed me!
We will meet again soon, and for now, you’ll live in our hearts. Thank you God for your gift.

Doctor Emad.. you will be forever missed. Your gentleness and kindness shared with our family and our extended family with no hesitance. Your Christ like character has demonstrated with us each time we came to visit for our dental care. Your kind smile and always checking on our family spoke volumes to us. We will be eternally grateful for your service delivered on this earth.

My heartiest condolences to Mona, Marianne, and Sam. Mr. Morris showed me great kindness at my lowest point, when I was almost homeless and broke, by giving me a free root canal. I have many good memories with the whole family! Dr. Morris was a truly good man, and he will be missed! Much love from Shelly
