Cameron Alexander MUSTARD

Cameron Alexander Mustard, passed away on May 6, 2022, at the age of 31 at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton.

Cameron is survived by his mother and father; Susan and John Mustard, his sisters; Megan Mustard (Alex Kordellas) and Heather Donnelly (Kevin Donnelly), nephew; Liam Donnelly, maternal grandmother; Constance Baxter, and paternal grandfather, William Mustard. Cameron was surrounded and loved by numerous aunts and uncles, and he cherished those relationships dearly.

Cameron was born on May 14, 1990 and came into our lives on January 24 1991. He had a kind soul with a love for nature, camping, and the outdoors. He had many hurdles in life, but always found a way to help the people around him. Cameron was able to give in death, as he gave in life, through organ donation. He was able to change the lives of 5 individuals and their families; we know this would mean the world to Cameron and is a testament to his character. Cameron will forever be remembered and treasured in our hearts. The family would ask that you share Cameron’s legacy with a simple act of kindness, whatever that might be, the next time you see someone in need.

Below is a poem that was shared with Cameron by his mother Susan back in 2015. Looking back at this poem, we realized the prayer was describing the gifts Cameron possessed.

A Mother’s Prayer

These things I pray for my children…

Give them the gift of sight that they may see others as you see them, not through eyes that have been tainted by life’s experiences.

Give them the gift of hearing so they may hear the silent cries of those in need.

Give them the gift of speech so that they may speak up for those that cannot speak themselves.

Give them the gift of touch so that they might reach out to those in most need of kindness and a gentle word.

Above all of these grant them Humility, Wisdom, and Peace, that they accept these gifts, know from whom they are given, and the ability to share them lovingly with others.

I pray for these things, not just for my children, but for all mankind.
