Allana Diane SAMPSON
Allana (Lana) Diane Sampson
December 17, 1945 – March 20, 2023
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Allana Sampson, her family by her side, on Monday, March 20, 2023, at the age of 77 years, in Edmonton, Alberta.
Lana will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her husband Hank, sisters Sharon Olsen and her partner Blair, Wendy and brother-in-law Chris Elsey, niece Deborah, her partner JC, and her family, Lindsay and Colin, nephew David, nephew Jeff and his partner Crystal along with their blended family Ocean, Ember, Cindal, Chanti and Chenise, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Lana was born in Edmonton and graduated from Bonnie Doon Composite High School in 1963, attended the University of Alberta in 1964, then in 1965, looking for adventure, spent a year with family in California.
Lana’s life was dedicated to family and friends, her career was dedicated to working for, and directing family and community support service organizations. She loved living in the country, sports cars, horses and dogs (not necessarily in that order).
Lana was hard-headed, opinionated and interfered or intervened in almost every life she touched, but she was also compassionate, loyal, fierce in her defence of others and adventurous. She was greatly loved and her presence in our lives will be greatly missed.
Lana was predeceased by her parents Jack (2005) and Valerie (2004) Sampson, grandparents Roy and Mabel Sampson and Helen Forbes.
Cremation has taken place and in respect of Lana’s wishes there will be no funeral.
In lieu of flowers, and if desired, a donation may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories, #306, 10430-61 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta, T6H 2J3, by calling 1-866-950-5465 or online at Alzheimer.ab.ca
