Joel-Christian James WOLSTENHOLME
It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the untimely passing of Joel-Christian James Wolstenholme, age 30, of Edmonton AB on Sunday February 6th.
He is survived by his Mother Tanya & Stepfather David, Grandmother Jackie, Auntie Tracy and his cousins Darian, Xyler, Davis & Vaeda. Plus, an army of friends and family who loved him so much.
Preceding Joel in death just 8 months prior was his Grandfather Merritt Heustis.
Joel grew up in Weyburn, Saskatchewan where he attended school from elementary to grade 11. He enjoyed swimming, basketball, soccer, baseball & football. He loved cheering on the Riders, watching UFC, playing video games, and watching movies. He had a passion for the outdoors doing things like fishing, camping, boating, and taking in nature. Joel loved chicken nuggets, all animals especially his cat Raggy and music especially any he could sing or dance to. He went to concerts with Mom/David to see Metallica, Ozzy, Rob Zombie, Velvet Underground, Billy Talent, Motley Crue, with his friends to Snoop Dog, Tiesto, LMFAO, Stickybuds & many festivals.
He never knew a stranger & would always make you feel welcomed. His laugh, smile and personality would light up any room. Joel had a huge heart and would give you anything even if he didn’t have much to give.
He loved the cosmos, astronomy, and astrology. He liked having conversations in depth contemplating life outside our planet and that one day he would be a part of the astral world.
Joel loved fiercely & deeply. Please take comfort in knowing he is at peace, surrounded by light. Stardust.
On Saturday February 26th at 2:00 p.m. his family would be honoured for your presence to attend his service at Athlone Community Hall, 13010-129 Street NW, Edmonton. A celebration of Joel’s life to be held in Weyburn, Saskatchewan at a later date.

I’m so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and love with you always. Joel could always put a smile on my face and make my day brighter.
R.I.P Buddy!! You were a great man dude! It was awesome that I got to know you! From your buddy back home in Weyburn!! See you on the other side my friend!!
I never met you Joel, but you lived inside your mothers loving heart. Her eyes lit up with hope and love when she spoke about you. I told her that I was so proud of her because she was resilient to give you safety and courage to regain your independence. She was determined , loving and protecting of her fragile boy and never gave up on him. It is with sadness in my heart to Tanya to lose such a beautiful son. I felt so much love from Tanyas heart, but also through the beautiful smile of Joel’s eyes. God bless you both, but remember that love never dies but lives on eternally.
Our hearts break for you Tanya and family, we are so very sorry for your loss, xo Kristine Paul and Jason Bennett
My deepest condolences Tanya, David and family. I remember Joel with that big smile and joyful soul as a little boy back in the Royal Days. He will be missed by many. I send some many prayers your way in this difficult time.
Joel lived his life knowing he had a mom who loved him unconditionally, who always watched out for him, no matter his troubles. He’s no longer troubled, and he’s now lovingly returning the favor, watching over you from a place of peace and wonder. He’s forever here, in you, Statler, and it makes you who you are. Love you always, Waldorf.
