Chad Timothy FLEETWOOD

Chad Timothy Fleetwood, 46, of Edmonton, Alberta passed away on January 11, 2026. Born on February 21, 1979, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Chad was the beloved son of John and Bonnie and the younger brother of Leah.

Chad grew up in Spruce Grove, where he spent countless hours at the rink playing hockey or on the basketball court. After graduating from Spruce Grove Composite High School, he pursued plastics engineering at NAIT. Following several years in that field, Chad found his long-term professional home at EPCOR.

In 2011, Chad married his wife, Rebecca, and together they built a beautiful life with their two sons, Blake and Sullivan. Chad cherished every moment with his family. He found immense joy in watching his boys play hockey year-round and loved sharing in their passion for the sport. Outside of family time, he enjoyed music, cheering on the Oilers, travelling, and nurturing his love of collecting -especially Nike sneakers, ball caps, vinyl records, and hockey cards.

Chad is survived by his wife, Rebecca: their sons, Blake and Sullivan; his parents, John and Bonnie; and his sister Leah.

A funeral service will be held on January 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at West Meadows Baptist Church (9333-199 Street NW), with interment to follow at Northern Lights Cemetery.

In honour of Chad’s passion for Nike sneakers, the family warmly encourages attendees to wear their favourite pair to the service.

I’m heartbroken to hear about Chad’s passing. He was taken far too soon, and it’s incredibly unfair. Chad will always be remembered for the impact he had on the people around him and the memories we shared. I loved playing hockey with him and truly appreciated his support of my band—he always showed up for our live shows. My thoughts are with his family and everyone who loved him during this incredibly difficult time. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

I am so so sad to hear this news. I grew up alongside Chad in the Frenchie community and we were a tight knit group that had “sibling vibes”. In short: I am feeling this loss so deeply. I am so sad for you Rebecca and for your boys. And John, Bonnie and Leah my heart is with you. I am not able to come to the service but I will be there in spirit. May you celebrate the life of just a super super guy.

Hello Rebecca. I’m shocked and saddened to have woken up this morning to the terrible news. Chad and I attended NAIT together. And I think the most animated I saw him was when he spoke about his new baby (your first born). Such excitement from an otherwise quiet soul. I could tell he was bursting with happiness to have a wee family of his own. My heart breaks for you. As a mother I cannot imagine doing this gig alone. Especially when your children’s father is such a solid legend which leaves a permanent gap. Kindly advise if there’s a go fund me page or similar such that we can support in some small way. Thinking of you and your boys. Big hugs from Australia. Erin xx
