Joan Fay HUNT
With deep sadness, the family of Joan Fay Hunt announces her passing on May 20, 2025.
Joan is lovingly remembered by her daughter Fay Fletcher (Gary), sons: Miles Hunt (Holly) and Tim Hunt (Sulange), grandchildren: Derek and Diane Fletcher (children of Fay), Christopher, Craig and Cory Hunt (children of Miles), Jillian, Shannon and Brittany Hunt (children of Tim), great-grandchildren: Sam & Ben Hunt (children of Christopher & Natasha Hunt), Brynlee, Jessica and Madison Hunt (children of Craig & Melissa Hunt), Sage, Nash and Wren Fletcher (children of Derek & Jen Fletcher ) and her sister Sharon Lamarre. She is predeceased by her parents Jean Marie and Louise Lamarre, brother Donald Lamarre and sister Arlene McClelland.
We often joked about mom being a real “Lamarre woman”, the highest compliment. In our family, Lamarre women, and the Steffes women alike, are known for their strength, resilience and love for family. Staff at her long-term care centre would often say “Your mom is a strong woman”, second only to staff and residents commenting on her beautiful smile and disposition. Above all, mom loved time spent at the lake with family. It only seems fitting that we celebrate her life and share time with family and friends at the lake.
A celebration of Joan’s Life will take place at the cabin, 4436 Sunset Drive, Sunset Point on August 3, 2025, starting at 1pm with words of remembrance by Miles, Tim and Fay at 2 pm. Dress is ‘lake casual’.

Aunt Joan was such a wonderful person. She always had time for you and made you feel special. Jill and I pass on our condolences to the Hunt family on your loss. We look forward to seeing the family at Joan’s memorial service.
All the best.
Al Comeau
