Charmaine Deloris LEFEBVRE

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Charmaine Doloris Lefebvre, age 78, on April 2, 2026, in Beaumont, Alberta.

Charmaine was born on June 15, 1947, in Edmonton, Alberta, to Florian and Sarah Lefebvre. She was the eldest sister of nine children—four sisters and five brothers—and was raised in Winterburn and later at the family’s beautiful lakeside home at Lac La Nonne, where many of her most cherished memories were made.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Karen Kelly-Daoust (Michael Daoust); her grandchildren, Kyle Kelly, Sarae Hamel (Darcy Hamel), and Shay Daoust (Becca Dunne); and her great-grandsons, Harvey Hamel and Gabriel Hamel. She is also survived by her sister Dianne Lefebvre (Lyle Cust), her brothers Phillip Lefebvre (Cheryl Lefebvre), Dennis Lefebvre, Norman Lefebvre (Connie Lefebvre), and Arthur Lefebvre, along with many nieces and nephews.

Charmaine was predeceased by her parents, Florian and Sarah Lefebvre; her brother Ray Lefebvre; and her sisters Annette Petterson and Theresa Shabada, nephew, Darcy Dax Craig.

Charmaine was a strong and driven woman—someone who stood firmly in her beliefs, fiercely protected those she loved, and expressed herself through creativity. Some of her fondest memories were formed in the simple, beautiful moments of her early life: fishing on Lac La Nonne with her father, helping her mother in the garden, walking the countryside in spring near Willow Bend Resort, and dancing in her parents’ kitchen.

Her grandmother introduced her to sewing at a young age, and Charmaine quickly discovered a lifelong passion. Her love for fashion and textiles was woven into who she was. She spent countless hours at her sewing machine, creating stunning wedding dresses, one-of-a-kind garments, and beautiful home pieces—each made with care, precision, and heart.

Encouraged by her parents to follow her passion, Charmaine moved to Vancouver to attend design college, where she excelled and graduated with honours. She was admired by both her instructors and classmates, forming friendships that lasted over the years.

Charmaine was also fiercely independent and capable—someone who could change her own oil, handle power tools, and take on any DIY project with confidence and determination. She approached life with resilience and was always willing to share her wisdom and life experiences with those around her.

Above all, she valued family, creativity, and living life on her own terms.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and celebrate Charmaine’s life in a way she would have wanted—surrounded by love, stories, and connection. A celebration of life will be held in June, with the date and location to be shared at a later time.
