Laura May ANDERSON

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Laura May Anderson, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, who passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 17, 2024, at the age of 85. Laura was born on May 4, 1939, in St. Louis, Saskatchewan.

A long-time resident of Camrose, Alberta, Laura made this community her home for over sixty years. She was passionate about her work of more than twenty years as the Assistant to the Registrar at Camrose Lutheran College now known as University of Alberta – Augustana Campus.

She is survived by her sons, Darcy (Scott) of Denver and Bryan (Patricia) of Edmonton, and her cherished grandchildren: Chris (Jacki) (Edmonton), Nicholas (Elsa) (La Paz, Mexico), Tyler (Amanda) (St Albert), Daniel (Longmont), Rebecca (Denver), Step grandchildren: Peter (Lima, Peru), Lizeth (Alaska) and great grandchildren: Jack and Nolan (St Albert), Camerin Jr and Sirius (Alaska), Fabrizio and Sebastian (Lima, Peru) and nephew Barry (Calgary). She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Laura was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Lillie Brown, Sister Gladys Brassard, Brother Wally Brown and former husband and father to her sons, John (Jack) Anderson.

We will miss her. Her cremains will be buried in the Valleyview Cemetery in Camrose along with her Parents and Brother and a headstone placed when the weather permits.

Per Laura’s wishes, the family asks that donations be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in lieu of flowers and she did not want a funeral.
