Roger Komla ATSRIM

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Roger Atsrim on November 24th 2024.

Roger Atsrim was born on September 21, 1965, in Kpedze, a town in the Volta Region of Ghana. Tragically, on August 8, 2024, he was involved in an accident and underwent brain surgery. Despite medical efforts, he did not recover and passed away peacefully at the age of 59.

Roger served in the Ghana Armed Forces (Military Police) and participated in United Nations missions. After relocating to Canada, he joined the Canadian Army and served in the Reserve Unit for several years. The military was his calling, and he carried the essence of his service with him everywhere he went, often sharing stories about his time in the army. Military was his life.

Roger was a loving individual who treated everyone around him with care and compassion. He put others’ needs before his own and was always ready to help a friend in need. His friendship, love, generosity, kindness, and empathy touched everyone he met. Known for his hospitality and accommodating nature, he loved meeting new people and bringing family and friends together, often making them smile with his playful sense of humor.

Roger is survived by five children and a grandson and will always be lovingly remembered by his son Edem, grandson Mawuko, his siblings and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Roger will forever be missed but never forgotten and his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Farewell Roger, a beloved father, brother, friend and a grandfather.

A memorial service will be held on December 5 at West Meadows Baptist Church, where family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and bid him farewell and can be viewed at https://westmeadows.online.church

My dear grandpa, I was very young when you relocated to the western, you were loving and full of jokes whenever you returned from military Service, a heart beat for every youngster inspiring to join a military.
Roger as we know even from Kpedze his earth home, is the charisma known to him everywhere.

    Rest well grandpa.
