Annet Kembundu ATUHURIRE

Family and friends sadly announce the passing of our dear Annet at University Hospital in Edmonton.

We mourn the loss of a charismatic woman of great courage, strong work ethic, generosity, and creativity. Annet was known for her quilts, greeting cards and beautiful cakes. Her accomplishments in Canada included graduating from Norquest College’s health care aid programme. That career was cut short by the return of her lymphoma.  After her diagnosis, she continued her charitable work and amazed her neighbours with her beautiful garden. She loved to cook, entertain, feed birds and do home renovations. She leaves to mourn her loss her two beloved daughters, Angel and Gaby in Uganda, her extended family, her kitty, Buttercup and many, many loving friends. Uganda’s loss was Canada’s gain. Rest in peace, dear friend.

As per Annet’s wishes, cremation is being arranged. A memorial service will be held at Grovenor Community Hall, 14325 104 Ave, on Dec. 19 at 2 p.m. Masking and proof of vaccination will be required under the Restriction Exemption Programme. For more information email recollections@telus.net. Donations will be gladly accepted for the continuing care of her daughter, Gaby.

I only recently met Annet, but she made a lasting impression. She was joyful and lively. I loved her laughter, and her sunny outlook. Rest in Peace. You will be missed.
