Gilles Joseph Ayotte

Gilles Ayotte of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on October 23, 2026.

Gilles was predeceased by his first wife, Anne Lermen; his parents, Laval and Bibiane Ayotte; his sisters, Pierrette (Lloyd) Beckman and Madeline (Cyril) Fransoo; his brother, Guy (Gerry) Ayotte.

He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Rene (Sylvie), and their children, Mitchell (Lindsay), Danton and Zachary; his daughter, Sandra (Alex), and their children, Dominic and Bethany; his second wife, Pierrette Bouchard; his stepson, Edward and his children Kera & Gavin; his stepdaughter, Tammy (Adam), and their children, Kalan and Madison. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren, Kenzlee and Tateum.

Gilles is also survived by his brothers, Eloi (Lucy), Roger (Carole) and Roland (Shelley); his sisters, Odette (Norbert) and Gertrude (Marcel); as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

In keeping with Gilles’ wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, his immediate family will gather for a private celebration of life to honour and remember him.

Gilles’ cremated remains will be laid to rest alongside his first wife, Anne, at the Wetaskiwin Cemetery.

Gilles will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
