I am so sorry to hear of Mrs.Baxters passing, she was such a huge presence in my childhood and my days out at the Lake hold such very found memories.

Some of my favourite memories with Grandma were spending the day with her for my birthday as a kid. We would go swimming and out for lunch. She will be so missed!

You welcomed us to the lake gave us great big hugs and sent us home with a jar of pickles. I’ll never forget your kindness.

I will always have Aunty Doreen in my memories. As a child, growing up at the lake, I remember being intimidated by her. She was always full of spice. But as I grew up, I learned to understand her more and appreciate who she was. She had knitted us beautiful linens and I will always be reminded of her when I use them. I am not only thankful, but also honoured to have grown up at the lake, with a community of family and friends that she had helped bring together. We will miss her very much.

I was so blessed to come into your life almost 14 years ago. I remember how floored you were that I’d name my dog Baxter. You got over it quickly and welcomed me into the family. I’ll miss your dry wit. You made me feel so welcome in a tight knit family. Even when Matt and I would bring friends over they’d leave feeling loved. Our children will know you and how important you were. We miss you.
