Xavier Malkya BLACKBURN

It is with profound sorrow that we mourn the passing of our son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend, Xavier M. Blackburn. Xavier will be lovingly remembered by his parents, David and Casie, his father Clint, sisters Naomi, Vanessa and Jaden, grandparents Ken and Leslie, Rose, and Bob. Aunts Robeliz, Brandy and Falken, and his uncle, Dwayne.

Our Xavier was born on December 3, 2001 at a hefty 7 pounds, 12 ounces. He was a chubby little boy from the day he was born. My best friend coined the phrase tubbly bubbins for him and she couldn’t have been more spot on. He would walk around in his onesie with his little Michelin man legs with his bottle in his hand. Growing up, he was always had an infectious smile and was happy, no matter the situation or environment. To give you an idea of his personality, when he had soccer games he would cheer for the other team when they scored a goal. While minding net for his own team. That was just who he was.

He had an infectious smile and his sense of humour was dry and quirky. He grew up with 3 sisters, Naomi, Vanessa, and Jaden, whom he bugged to no end. Even though he bugged them endlessly, he also loved them endlessly. No one else was allowed to bug them though, he would have something to say about that. He was loved by his teachers, though more often than not, he was told to stop talking in class because he was the class clown. For his kindergarten graduation, the teachers did a video diary interviewing each student what they wanted to be when they grew up. When he was asked, he said that he wanted to be a heartbreaker. It was the cutest thing ever, and everyone in the audience had a good laugh about it.

Xavier attended the same school from grade 1-9, and through those years, he had many friends whom he had sleepovers with, hung out at the park at and played at school with. He was the friend that tried to make everyone laugh, or at the very least, smile. When he was in a different high school, he more or less was the same friendly, class clown dude who charmed everyone, including again, his teachers. He didn’t ever really like school, but he grudgingly went anyway. In high school, he made some really good friends, and a few of those lasted into adulthood. He was a charmer to the ladies, or as stated before, a heartbreaker.

After graduation, Xavier worked really hard and was able to buy himself his first car, which he was really proud of. He was working full time and trying to enjoy adulthood. We were so proud of the wonderful young man he was. I wish that he was able to experience all that life had to offer, and all the happiness in the world, but I know in my heart that he is happy and at peace where he is. Xavier is so very loved, and missed beyond words.

I grew up right across the street from Xavier and his family for a while on CFB Kingston. I remember playing outside, shooting basketballs, biking around, and having a sleep over or two playing video games with him. The kindest, most enjoyable friend I had as a kid, hands down. I am so sorry to hear of this, my thoughts and prayers go out to all of his family and friends. I hope you rest in peace, my old friend. Until we meet again.

Please know your family is in my thoughts and prayers as you navigate the loss of your beloved Xavier. He was such a special person, and I was honoured to get to know him better at Sturgeon Composite and during my visits to East Side Mario’s. He could light up a room, and he was not only funny but kind and sensitive. He is missed by all of us at the school and made such a lasting impact on everyone he came in contact with. Rest in peace Xavier.

My heartfelt condolences to the Blackburn family on Xavier’s passing. I only recently met Xavier and worked with him for a brief period of time. I found him to be a very nice, polite, respectful young man. He was always willing to help, and had a wonderful smile. He was a pleasure to work with. I only wish that I had the opportunity to get to know Xavier better.

I am so sorry for the loss of someone so young. I cannot imagine the pain they you are feeling at this time. I am certain that the wonderful memories of Xavier will always bring you comfort during this difficult time, as well as joy and love in the future.

My deepest sympathies on your loss of this fine young man.
