Mason Danial BOOT

It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of our beloved son, Mason Boot, on August 5th, 2025.

Mason is survived by his loving parents, Walter and Sharon; his proud and protective “big bro,” Dailen; and his loyal golden buddy, Hudson. His aunt, uncle, and cousins showered him with their unwavering love, and he will forever be remembered in the hearts of close friends who became family in every sense of the word.

From the moment Mason entered our lives, he brought immeasurable joy, love, and laughter. He grew into an extraordinary young man, driven by ambition and curiosity, continually surprising us with his determination and genuinely big heart. A passionate gamer, Mason also loved snowmobiling, quading, fishing, and sitting around a fire, enjoying good company, music, and the occasional cold one.

Though often reserved at first glance, Mason had a remarkable ability to connect with others. If he spotted a shared interest — whether in a car, a board, or a bike — he wouldn’t hesitate to strike up a conversation, often forming friendships that would last a lifetime. He was well known for his “little toodles” around town in his car, music blasting as loud as it could go from the sub in his trunk, and often even louder if he had the back seats folded down.

More recently, Mason found a deep sense of belonging in the two-wheeled community. After bringing home his motorcycle he found himself welcomed into an incredible group of riders who not only taught him the ropes but also embraced him as one of their own. Their promise to “have his six” was one he wholeheartedly trusted and felt in his soul.  After his first ever “two wheeled therapy session”, he came home beaming from ear to ear with excitement as he shared every detail of the experience. The thrill, the freedom, and the connections were exactly what he’d been searching for and it was clear he had found where he truly felt he belonged.

A celebration of life honoring our son, Mason is to take place on Saturday, August 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Blueberry Community Hall, 53109 RR 15, Parkland County, AB. Following the conclusion of the celebration, Mason will be honored with a Military tradition called a Pegs Down Memorial Ride where he will be taken on his final journey home.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mason’s memory can be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital, where he had received such extraordinary care many years ago .

Mason did indeed have a knack for getting those around him to care for him. Even when you wanted to strangle him you couldn’t help but to laugh and appreciate how goofy he could be. He lit up the room when he laughed.
My deepest condolences to his family and close friends. I cannot imagine the pain you must be feeling. May the happy memories bring you comfort as time passes.
