Heather was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Courtney Blake and Lindsay (Tyler) Miyagishima; Ashleigh Lipton, Jacob (Kaitlyn) Dykstra, Zachary (Madi) Dykstra and Matthew (Haley) Dykstra; Kristen (Vanessa) Schwind-Kirkwood and Bradley Kirkwood. She loved her eight great-grandchildren: William McKie; Sadie, Duke, Beck & Bobby Lipton, Nova Dykstra and Nolan & Luka Dykstra. Heather is also survived by Ray’s children Sean (Jennifer) Brosseau and Celeste (Bob) Brosseau and Ray’s three grandchildren.
Heather is lovingly remembered by her dearest lifelong friend Jean Wynne .
She was predeceased by her beloved son, Mike Scott; her first husband, Robert “Bob” Park; and her second husband, Raymond Brosseau.
Heather was raised in Blackie, Alberta, where her father, John (“Jack”) McRobbie, worked as a blacksmith and her mother was a homemaker. She had two older brothers, Howard and Arthur.
While still a teenager, Heather moved with her parents to Calgary. Following her graduation, she worked as a model before beginning her career with Trans-Canada Air Lines as a stewardess. She had already become a stewardess when she met Bob in 1960. Their relationship quickly blossomed, leading to their engagement in 1961, and they were married later that same year.
Immediately following their marriage, Heather and Bob moved to Bogotá, Columbia, where they spent the first year of their married life while Bob worked for Schlumberger. Heather greatly enjoyed their time in Bogotá. The couple later returned to Calgary before the birth of their first daughter, Stephanie, in 1963. Tracy was born in Edmonton in 1966, and by the time Tammy was born in 1968, the family had settled first in Toronto and later in Burlington.
In 1973, Heather earned her real estate license and became a successful agent with Tom Dowling & Associates. After the family returned to Edmonton, she continued her education at university, earning her Real Estate Appraisal Certificate.
Heather joined Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation in 1979, where she remained until her retirement in 1992. She began her career there as a Real Estate Appraiser before going on to lead two government-funded housing programs: the CHIP program and the WRAP program.
Upon retirement, she focused her time on her family. Heather’s greatest happiness came from the time she spent with her family. She leaves behind many treasured memories, stories, and traditions that will continue to live on through those who loved her. Her strength and caring spirit touched the lives of many and will never be forgotten.
