Carlos Peredo CABARRUBIAS
After a difficult battle with metastatic lung cancer as well as end stage kidney failure, Carlos “Butch” Cabarrubias, 63, of Edmonton AB, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 29th, 2021.
Carlos was born in Cotabato City, Philippines on October 6, 1958 to Enrique and Felicidad Cabarrubias. He graduated from Notre Dame University with a Bachelor in Commerce degree. He worked in the Department of Health Region XII Office as a Budget Clerk for 23 years, where he met his wife Cecilia, and went on to have 2 children, Karla Celica and Boots. In 2011, the family moved to Canada and he worked at Walmart as a Produce Associate until 2019.
Carlos was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. He was usually quiet, but he was known to tell jokes out of nowhere. He loved listening and singing to music, especially from Michael Bublé, Michael Bolton, and Frank Sinatra. Carlos was an observer, and loved to live in the present. He liked to see new places, and took lots of pictures wherever he went.
We mourn the loss of a husband and a father and encourage any and all who knew him to remember the beauty he brought to this world. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church on December 8th at 1:00 PM.
