Josephine Bernadette CARDINAL
Josephine Bernadette Cardinal lost her battle with cancer on November 24th of 2025 in the loving care of George Spady Society’s Palliative care staff and family.
She is survived by her children Riane Calliou (step daughter), Pierce Cardinal, Pheonyx Cardinal, Davian Cardinal, Mykah Lagimodere and the father of the children Ryan Lagimodere. Her sisters: April (Lyle) Morin, Jennifer (Nick) Courtoreille, Jessica Cardinal and brother Eric Tiedemann most of who are originally from Kehewin, AB as well as numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and cousins.
She is predeceased by her biological parents Eric and Violet John, and adopted mother Agnes Cardinal, sisters: Francine Tiedemann, Rhonda Cardinal and brother Burton John.
The family would love to give a special thanks to The George Spady Society Palliative care house Doctors and staff who worked with Josephine during her stay. We would also like to give thanks to Christina Ignacio-Deines and Soloss, for the custom artwork done in memory of Joey and her work as an artist. Thank you so much for all you have done for our family.
Services for Josephine will be held at Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples, 10821-96 Street, Wake: Monday, December 29 at 4pm, Funeral Service: Tuesday, December 30 at 11am.

Thank you Josephine the love and memories, you were innocent and a warrior at heart your words of live love a laugh were inspiring to me. Till we meet again love you sweetheart .
Joey was a very special student & Assistant. Both Joey & Rhonda were my students @ Norquest college 2010
They like me so much, they came back to my classroom at Reeves/CDI College in 2015
Joey has a very warm & inclusive ability to sit & listen.
Both times I put her in charge of helping other young Aboriginal single mothers with community resources & life skills.
Joey, Rhonda, Denise, Tanya & Angela all took the initiative to introduce positive workshops to these clients for the first time💖
Scripture tells us, when the student is ready the teacher will appear.🙏
I am very proud of the inclusion and commitment my girls put into those workshops. For it was their turn to teach others with less💥💜
Life is a very special moment in time for all of us. In my 20 years as a teacher, I have now lost 12 students.
One day there my students & one-day my children 💖😢🙏
What I will always cherish is Joey’s ability to share, honor & include others with a very warm invitation to everyone.💖💯
I love all my students for their mature efforts, there is no looking back,
Your future is waiting.🤩❤️
