Edward Keith CHRYSTAL

In the days leading up to the passing of Keith Chrystal, his family traveled from near and far to gather around him. During these final moments, he was surrounded with love, story telling, the sounds of his family sharing laughter and tears, and the recounting of memories from a life beautifully and fully lived. As a man deeply devoted to his family, this is exactly how Keith would have wanted to say goodbye.

During his 89 years on Earth, Keith was a loving husband of 70-years to his wife Donna, and a doting father to their five children - Terry, Deborah, Lee, Lorne, and Tracy. As his family grew, he also became a Dad to his sons-in-law, Fred and Ralph, who loved him like a father of their own. His daughter-in-law, Judith, along with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, will also miss him dearly.

Every day, Keith was guided by his heart and his unwavering commitment to his family, which he did with a whistle on his lips and a twinkle in his eye. He was a known trickster with a legendary sweet tooth. Keith was an animal-lover, an outdoorsman, and an artist with a never-ending curiosity for nature, travel, and life in general. As an exceptional wood carver and craftsman, he was often found working on one of his many projects, meticulously shaping and sculpting wood pieces, somehow bringing them to life. Keith loved hunting and fishing - driving down the muddy cutline in the Land Cruiser and later sitting around a warm fire with a glass of rye in hand. He loved music and cowboy poetry, and even in his last days, Keith sang and listened to the songs that filled his heart and soul with joy.

It is with profound sadness that his family says, goodbye for now. Keith, a truly one-of-a-kind, will live on in the hearts of his loved ones forever.
