Robert “Bob” Seaman DEWIS

Robert (Bob) Seamen Dewis born on October 26, 1952 in New Denver, B.C., passed away suddenly on October 6, 2024 in Edmonton.  He was the youngest child of Seamen and Laura (Edwardson), both deceased.

Predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his kids Adam and Naomi and grandchildren Benjamin and Lara; sister Donna; niece Candice; as well as many other family members.

Bob was born in New Denver and moved to Robson in 1960.  After graduating, he settled in Sparwood, BC, where he met his future wife Debbie and this is where Adam and Naomi were born.  In 1989, Bob switched from coal to pulp, moving to Hinton, AB for the next stage of their lives.  After pulp, Bob moved onto Oil and Gas, moving to Calgary in 2000.  That position was temporarily in Calgary and eventually moved to Fort MacMurray in 2008.  In 2010, change of resource happened again when he moved to Saskatoon to work in the potash industry.  In 2014, he relocated to Edson, AB to carry on his career in the warehouse.  He bounced around for a bit after this and finally found a spot with the Commissionaires as a security guard in Edmonton, which he did until his passing.

Bob was very social and made friends wherever he went.  Some of his favorite memories were playing ball with the “Koal Kings” in Sparwood, fixing up old cars that his son may or may not have broken, riding motorbikes with his friends, being a Kinsmen while in Hinton, shooting guns of all kinds at the range, goose hunting in Saskatchewan with friends and family, and of course, he loved his family.

Thank you to the Misercordia Hospital ICU and Pointe West Funeral Homes in Edmonton for such compassionate service and guidance.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 27, 2024 at 11 a.m., at the Silverton Memorial Hall, 203 Lake Ave, Silverton, BC.

If you would like to share a story or favorite memory of Bob and are unable to attend the service, please email Adam at adewis99@gmail.com and it will be presented.

Ron and I send our condolences to all of Bob’s family. It has been a number of years since we last saw Bob but will always remember the Koal King days and all the fun and laughs we had during that time.
