Randy Dean DRYSDALE

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Randy Drysdale on June 15, 2024, at age 70. Randy was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife; Janice. Children; Tyson, Katrina, Avery, Fraser and their spouses. In addition, dear friend Hal, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, his brother and his sister.

A celebration of life will be held June 23, 2024 at 2:00pm, at Druids Rugby Club 23360 Twp Rd 524A, Sherwood Park. Dress is casual/jeans.

Randy passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024, at the age of 70. He is survived by his loving wife Janice, children Tyson (Melanie) Katrina (Dave), Avery (Marcello) and Fraser (Kelly). In addition, lifelong friend Hal. Randy had 9 grandchildren: Courtney, Cory, Nicolas, Sheldon, Darian, Riley, Lucas, Parker, Scarlett, along with 2 great grandchildren, Sydney and Sean.

Randy is predeceased by his parents Evelyn and Earle. Brother Gary, sister Linda and nephew Derric.

Randy was born on January 3, 1954, to Evelyn and Earle Drysdale. He was the 4th of 5 children. His siblings include David (Kathleen), Gary, Linda and Kim (Mike).

Randy grew up in the Jasper Place area of Edmonton. In his early years Randy enjoyed hunting and often, he could be found spending time at the family cabin in Rochester, AB.

Randy worked as a welder, then later as an electronic service technician and electrician.

Randy met Janice in 1980, and they married June 27, 1981. They became an instant family of 5, with Tyson, Katrina and Avery. The family was complete when the youngest child; Fraser, was born in 1983. 

Over the years Randy was known for many things; his fashion choices which consisted of jeans with cowboy boots, his love for all the various dogs he owned and that he enjoyed a good dark rum and coke.

A family tradition that Randy and Janice started was taking all the kids to Calaway park each year. This continued for 20 + years and now includes the grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Randy thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Following his retirement, he was fortunate to spend much of his free time with the youngest grandchildren, Parker and Scarlett.

Randy truly was one of a kind and he will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Randy’s memory may be made to the SPCA.

    Thinking of all of you at this sad time. What a life Randy must have had being from a large family, then creating an even larger one with Jan and the kids, grandkids and great grandkids!! He will be sorely missed. Sending thoughts and prayers to all of you.
