Randy Dennis GALL
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Randy Gall announce his sudden passing on June 22, 2025, at the age of 58.
Randy was born in Golden, BC on April 23, 1967, to Dennis and Linda. His early years were spent living on the North Bench where there was always a gang of friends getting up to something! From teaching Shelly to ride her bike, to building a second floor on the treehouse and trekking into the woods to build a rope swing with Rick, life was never boring! Randy enjoyed doing many activities including soccer and hockey, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. He was an avid foosball player and could often be found at the arcade taking on challengers. This was something he enjoyed even as an adult and was happy to play any time he came upon a table! If Randy wasn’t at the arcade, you could find him working at the mill, cruising around doing his best air band moves, or hanging out at Grandma’s house with “the lunch bunch.”
After finishing high school, Randy made the decision to join the Canadian Armed Forces. He was first stationed as a Sapper, part of the Canadian Military Engineers, at CFB Chilliwack. During his time there he met Tanya, married, and soon after welcomed Ryan and then Rebecca. He served tours in Kuwait and Bosnia before being stationed at different bases until his last relocation to CFB Griesbach and the family settled into life in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.
Randy spent many hours watching his children in various sports and supporting them wherever their lives took them. Randy’s dad Dennis was his soccer coach during his childhood and Randy carried on the tradition by coaching Ryan and Rebecca. Everlasting memories will always be of driving around with him listening to music, road trips to Golden, and being together watching movies and different sporting events, especially hockey and the Canucks. Just as his Grandpa Gall and Grandma Susan did before him, Randy shared stories about his time in the military and they will leave a lasting impression on those who had the privilege to hear them. The honour that he felt for being able to serve his country will be remembered.
After retiring from the military as a Sergeant after 17 years of service, he began working for the Edmonton Police Service as an intake clerk. Randy was a well-respected employee who took great pride in being knowledgeable about the processes required for the job and was often looked to for assistance because of that expertise. He worked for EPS for over ten years until taking a leave of absence this year due to his health and was lovingly cared for by Rebecca until his passing. The most recent joy for Randy was the birth of his grandson Wyatt in Ontario where Ryan had moved with his partner Laura.
Randy will be missed and will always be lovingly remembered for his generosity, sense of humour, and deep loyalty to those he loved. He is survived by his children Ryan (Laura), Rebecca, grandchildren Wyatt and Carma, parents Dennis and Linda, brother Rick (Vicki), sister Shelly (Andy), niece Chelsea (Cal), nephew Brandon, nieces Ava and Myla, as well as many dear close and extended family and friends. Randy was predeceased by his grandparents, Uncle Larry, and his daughter Christine.
