Manuel Conado GARDOSE Jr.

Manuel Gardose Jr., or “Manny,” “Gado,” “Manuel,” “Gardo,” “Buboy,” “Boy,” “Rigor,” and “Ace,” was born on November 7, 1956, in Manila, Philippines. The 6th of 10 siblings, Manny was a man of many names, but one constant remained: he was a loving husband, father, and friend, with a heart as big as his laughter.

Manny may not have been perfect, but his imperfections only added to the charm that made him beloved by all who knew him. Generosity, kindness, care for others, and humor were at the core of his being. He lived to provide and care for his family, his wife, Merle, and their two sons, Ronron and Tonton, and was a proud grandfather to his only granddaughter, Mea Anayah. His life showed that true strength isn’t about perfection, but about being present and giving love.

Known as a "simpleng tao," Manny was approachable, joyful, and always had a smile ready. He always has a bright smile and if he knows you, he for sure can make you laugh. Whether he was telling a funny story, sharing a moment of his day, or simply being himself, Manny was the kind of person who made people feel like they belonged. He was punctual, always on time for any event or gathering, and always brought an outgoing energy with him wherever he went.

For over 30 years, Manny dedicated his professional life to the telecommunications industry. He worked with PLDT and later with Telcon and CNI – Canadian Network Installations Ltd. in Canada, accumulating over 10 years of combined experience. His tireless work ethic earned him multiple service excellence awards and respect in the industry, but it was his character—his dedication and positivity—that made him truly exceptional.

While he dreamed of traveling the world, particularly to the US and tropical countries, Manny always felt that the Philippines was his only home. Yet, if there was one thing Manny always dreamed of that he didn't pursue, it was his dream of becoming an "Action Star." A lover of films and the action and adventure, he often joked about what might have been had he followed that path.  Sports, especially basketball, were a big part of his life—he was an MVP during his younger years and a devoted fan of the Toronto Raptors. Manny also loved billiards, especially admiring the legendary Efren “Bata” Reyes, and had a passion for horse racing. He often said, “Life is as fast as a horse,” believing that life, much like the horses on the track, is unpredictable but full of exciting possibilities. He lived by this, embracing the ride, taking risks, and cherishing the moments with those he loved.
