It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Kenneth Geib on September 26, 2026 at the age of 42, bringing an end to his long and difficult battle with addiction.
Mike was born on August 28, 1984, in North Vancouver, British Columbia, to Lesley Kirkpatrick (MacLean) And Michael Kirkpatrick. After his father’s passing, his mom moved to Manitoba, where she met Bob Geib who became his father in every sense of the word.
Mike was a brother, a son, an uncle and a person who left an impression on the people around him.
Throughout his life, Mike was many things-some wonderful, some difficult, and some that were simply Mike. Those who knew Mike will carry their own memories of him, the good, the bad, the frustrating, the funny, the arguments, the laughter, and all the moments that made him who he was. We will remember all of it, because all of it was Mike.
He was complicated.
He was stubborn.
He was annoyingly smart.
He was creative.
He was frustrating.
He was loving.
He was at times a complete dumbass.
But you couldn’t help but to love him. He was Mike, and he was ours.
No service will be held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to an addiction or mental health service in your community.

Mike, my friend, you are deeply missed by both myself and Luna, my dog. He loved and cared for her, bringing such joy to her every time she saw him. He would play ball with her and walk her every day, and he helped me so much. Mike, I miss you, bro.
