It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announced the passing of Frederica Metelva Grant affectionately known as “Freddy”, who departed this life on May 19, 2026.

Born on February 20, 1947, Frederica lived a life defined by praising her God, love, strength, resilience, and devotion to her family.  She touched countless lives with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to those she loved.

Frederica leaves behind a legacy of family and cherished memories.  She is survived by her beloved mother, who at 96 years of age continue to carry her daughter’s memory in her heart; her loving daughter, Avaline Miller, her devoted son-in-law, Donald Styles; four treasured grandchildren Tania, Tanice, Travis & Tristan; and seven adored great-grandchildren Tasean, Tavon, Taj, Talin, Tatianna, Tye and Austin, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.

As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and friend, Frederica was a source of wisdom, comfort, and encouragement.  Her home was a place of warmth and welcome.  Her memories that will endure for generations.

Though her passing leaves an immeasurable void, her family finds comfort in the love she shared and the values she instilled.  Her legacy of compassion, perseverance, and dedication to family will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Frederica will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, church congregation, friends, and all whose lives were blessed by her presence.

May she rest in eternal peace in the arms of our Almighty God.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ-Apostolic.
