Bohdan Myron KAHANYSHYN
Bohdan Myron Kahanyshyn
March 30, 1941 – December 4, 2025
It is with profound heartbreak that the Kahanyshyn family announces the passing of Bohdan (Bob) Myron Kahanyshyn – our endearing and kind-hearted husband, dad, and Gedo.
Bob spent his final days surrounded by his loving family: his wife, Connie, his daughters, Cathy (Jerry) and Nadine (Denis), and his son, David (Sarah). He will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren whom he adored and who adored him: Emma, Abby, Zoryanna, Océanne, Lillia, and Jesper.
Bob will be fondly remembered by his brothers, Mike, Melvin, and Raymond, his sister-in-law, Myrtle Ogurian, his close cousins, Irene Katola and Roman Iwanyk, and their families as well as extended family and friends.
Bob was pre-deceased by his parents, Mary and Dmytro, his brother, Adolph, and his brother-in-law, Neil Ogurian, who was like a son to him.

Connie and the Kahanyshyn Family. I was very sad to hear of Bob’s passing. When I heard Bob had passed away, it brought back so many good memories of the good Ole days at Johnston Builders. He was such a big part of the company, especially the culture, and he had a huge positive impact on my career. He was a great and kind man. So Connie and Family, thankyou for sharing him with us all and if you need anything, please reach out anytime. Cheers Bob. From James.

Eternal mémories
Throughout my childhood, our families spent a lot of time together. I have a lot of great memories of our Dad’s together as they were very close. There was always excitement when we spent the weekend in Edmonton and when we heard that Uncle Bob, Aunty Connie and the kids were coming to Bonnyville for the weekend we always looked forward to it!
Uncle Bob always made us feel especially welcome and during one particular visit, bought all of us tickets to go see Wayne Gretzky and the Edmonton Oilers play! All of the adults and all of the kids had the chance to go! It was super exciting!! He also brought us to an Edmonton Eskimo game. He would stock the fridge downstairs with Happy Pop everytime we came for a visit.
Uncle Bob loved having extended family around and hosted many dinners with Ukrainian relatives, us included. The boys loved to sing a few Ukrainian songs together.
We will miss you Uncle Bob! I’m sure “Uncle Adolph” is glad you are finally together. Rest well ❤️
