Wayne Dennis LEE

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Lee on May 18, 2023. He lived life to the fullest and had smiles for everyone. He loved fishing, hunting, and woodturning….most of all he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years Sharon Lee, daughter Shannon Wadden (Rodney), granddaughters Ava and Hazel; son Scott Lee; stepdaughter Deanne Groulx (Jamie), granddaughters: Christina (Scott), Kassandra (Jesse); stepson Gary Cairns (Shannon) as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Wayne was a plumber/pipefitter by trade. He worked as a plumber/pipefitter for the City of St. Albert as well as a gas fitter and maintenance supervisor.

Wayne was a charter boat captain in Powell River, B.C. for “Country Boy Charters” for ten years, a company he and Sharon started. He was the ice maker, then also the manager of the Powell River Curling Club.

He was a wood turner and he belonged to the Edmonton Wood Turners Guild.

Wayne was a gas inspector for the City of Edmonton before he transferred to the City of St. Albert. Wayne also had a plumbing business of his own in the early 1970’s. Just before Wayne retired, he worked in Fort McMurray and Fort Saskatchewan.

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Lung Association.
