Pamela Alice McCLOY

On August 10, 2024, with her 3 daughters by her side, Pamela Alice McCloy peacefully passed away. Pam was predeceased by her parents Vince and Evelyn McCloy. She was the oldest sister of four children, sister Debbie (Bob) Mcllroy, brother Tim (Kim) McCloy, and brother Joel (Lacey) McCloy. Aunt to Nikki and Max McCloy, Ryan and Devon Gillot and Jesse and Chloe McCloy.

Pam was born on June 17th, 1948, in Victoria, BC. She spent much of her younger years in Victoria with a short period during her teen years in Churchill, Manitoba as her father was in the navy and was stationed here for a short time. After graduating high school, Pam got a job working in an office. Office administration would be her calling and she excelled in this work throughout her life.

In her early 20’s Pam met Mike Bramwell, a soldier in the Canadian Army. They fell in love and married on June 21, 1969. Mike and Pam had 3 daughters. Tami Bramwell, Tara (Greg) Florkewich, and Kyla (Ken) Grant. Mike and Pam were together for fourteen years but unfortunately divorced in 1984.

Faced with life as a single mother, Pam found a job at Steldor a steel door company in Edmonton Alberta. She was the receptionist there for many years. After Steldor, Pam took a job as a receptionist for Royal Lepage Noralta in Edmonton, then Royal Lepage in Spruce Grove and Remax in Spruce Grove. Pam came away from real estate with many wonderful friends and good memories.

Pam enjoyed slowpitch and played for the Meridian Heights slowpokes. She also had a passion for music and dancing. Pam and a group of friends formed a line dance group that practiced and performed together in public. As well, she enjoyed creating on her computer. Every one of her daughters and grandchildren has on CD a special assortment of pictures made into a slideshow with music that she spent hours preparing. Pam also became a volunteer at Westview health centre and met some wonderful people that became special friends to her. Pam’s greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was blessed with 4 Granddaughters and 6 Grandsons. Lauren (Tim) Stahl, Kendyl (Dan) Goudreau, Ashley Hennig, Randy Hennig, Chris (Annalease) Florkewich, Darryn (Lauren) Florkewich, Troy (Brittany) Florkewich, Todd (Danica) Florkewich, Shelby Hamilton, Jordan Hamilton. In addition to this crew, she was also blessed with great grandchildren, 6 great grandsons and 3 great granddaughters, one of which was born on Pam’s birthday which she was very pleased with.

Pam never remarried. She spent her years as an independent woman and gave her time to her family and a few good friends. The last ten years of her life were spent retired from work and managing her failing health. With a strong will to live, she kept disease at bay for many years but in her final days it was more than she could carry. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Please join Pam’s family as we celebrate her life and her legacy on October 5, 2024, at the Florkewich farm west of Stony Plain.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pam’s memory to Pilgrims Hospice. 9808 148 Street, Edmonton, Ab T5N 3E8. Pilgrimshospice.com.
