Randall Clifford McMATH

Randy is survived by his loving family and friends.

He married Linda MacKinnon in 1974.  They had two wonderful children, Lawrence (Nichole and grandson Logan) and Lisa (DJ and grandsons Johno and Isaia) which ended in divorce.  Randy went on to marry Darlene March and was there to support her 3 children, April (Joel and family), Patti (Al and family) and Robert.

After many years, that relationship ended, and Randy met his current and forever partner Norma Nevard. Norma has a daughter, Deanna (Dan and grandson Victor and granddaughter Yvonne).  Randy was also a mentor to Deanna and her family and earned the title of Pa. Randy’s children and grandchildren were all incredibly special to him.

He is survived by his sister Shelley McMath Deakin (her children Samuel, Damian, and Shay), his brother Glenn (Debbie and their children Shane, Faye (Chad and their children Makena, Brock, and Emory) his “other grandchildren” and Christopher).  Randy is predeceased by his brother Rick, his father Sam, stepmother Olive and his birth mom, Ruth who passed away when Randy was a teenager.

Randy loved being a trucker, he enjoyed driving across Canada and the United States in his mid 50’s. Randy, Norma and their dog Baby enjoyed the time they shared being truckers. Randy stopped trucking and started running heavy equipment.  His deepest enjoyment was his hunting and fishing. Of course, his fishing tales always got larger and larger. Randy’s biggest pride was his family and friends whom he shared his big heart and practical jokes. He will be sorely missed by all.

  • Randy McMath  ( Pa/Grandpa)

When we met Randy at the Driving School where we both worked over 35 years ago, we had no idea that he would be a main character in our lives.  Soon Randy became “Pa”, and he treated my mom, Dan and I as family.

When our kids Victor and Von each came along “Pa” became Grandpa. It was a role he was born to play. He showed so much love to our little ones and they adored him.  He was the first to make each of them laugh.

He was a source of knowledge and unconditional love for our family and he remained our children’s favorite person,

Whenever he came through the door, he brought joy and kindness with him.

We will always remember him as Pa and Grandpa.  We Love you and Miss you.

  • Randy and I always saw the world differently.  We debated everything. We would end up agreeing to

disagree.  Laugh at each other just to cool things down.  When it was serious we were there for each

other, especially when it came to family. As we got older we could say the bad or good to each other

Always coming back to each other with love and respect.  When it came to fishing the tales always grew

In April 2022 he took me fishing all over southern Alberta.  It was 4 days of laughter tears and love.

Will be what I hold dearly in my heart. I will miss you  but I know you are better off where ever you are.

In Memory of a Wonderful Brother

    I hold onto our memories
The ones that are so dear
To try to keep you always close
    Now you are not here
You were called, it was your time
    But it is so true
    You have left a legacy
There was no one like you
    You were very special
    And I want to say
I feel lost in many ways
    You are not here today
But I will never forget you
And I know I have been blessed
To have you for my Brother
    Because you were the best…

    love
    your baby sister Shell

Randy chose to be my dad for 17 years when he didn’t need to be a part of my family after the divorce. He was always there with an ear and loving advice during the worst experience/time of my life. I loved him like my dad and miss him so much it hurts. Dad was one of the greatest person I ever met and so grateful for the years he was my family. Love you dad.
