Faustino Mercado, also known as “Onet” passed away at the age of 70 on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Misericordia Hospital.

Faustino is survived by his wife Zenaida, his daughter Esmeralda with her husband Eric and his granddaughter Gianna.

He was born in Agbanawag, Nueva Ecija and was the 2nd eldest out of 10 siblings.  He was a hard working man who wanted to provide a better life for his family.  He graduated from CLSU and became the first President of the Professional Society of Engineers.

Faustino worked hard and found jobs in different countries and business ventures to try to provide a lifestyle that he wanted his family to have.  After discovering his brain tumor had re-grew, he found the will to get better again and to come home so that he could meet his first grandchild Gianna who was born on September 8, 2020.  Gianna came home on April 20, 2021 and the same weekend on April 24, 2023, Faustino also came home.

You will forever be missed, loved and remembered.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place Tuesday, September 19, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Parish, 9420 – 163 Street, Edmonton, AB.
