Myrna Joyce MOLBERG
On Sunday, May 10, 2026, after prolonged illness, Myrna Joyce Molberg (née Halsey), aged 85, passed away peacefully and was welcomed home by Jesus, her Lord and Saviour. Myrna is survived by Carey, her beloved husband of 62 years; their children, Warren (Candace), Gayle (Georg), and Keith; grandchildren, Daniella, Joel (Nadia), Nathan, Rachel, Rebecca, Nicole, Cameron, Monica, and Luke; and brother Estol.
Myrna was born on May 8, 1941, in Regina, Saskatchewan. At age 12, Myrna and her family moved to Saskatoon, where she completed high school in 1959 and began training to become a nurse. At her graduation in 1962, Myrna was honoured to receive the general proficiency prize in nursing, an indication of her dedication to and skill in the profession. After completing her nursing training, Myrna began working as a general nurse in Coronach, Saskatchewan.
As she was starting her training in 1959, Myrna was introduced to Carey Molberg by mutual friends. Four years later, after Carey had received his medical degree, they were married on August 31st, 1963, at University Drive Alliance Church in Saskatoon. Their first few years of married life were spent moving around Canada, as Carey completed his medical training and Myrna worked as an operating room nurse before they started their family in 1965.
With her husband and children, Myrna lived in a variety of places, including Saskatoon, Toronto, Regina, Churchill, and Sierra Leone, before settling in Red Deer for 45 years. In each of these places, Myrna spent much of her time caring for her family. Myrna’s final years were spent in St. Albert, close to her family, who were able to bless her and Carey by providing support as her ability to care for herself declined.
Throughout her life, Myrna’s desire to know and follow God had a deep impact on her life and the lives of her husband, children, grandchildren, and those in her community. Myrna frequently opened her home for Bible studies and visits, where she offered wisdom and guidance to the people around her who needed physical, spiritual, and emotional assistance. As Myrna followed God’s will for her life, she dedicated considerable time to helping people in her community and around the world. This included volunteering at Ten Thousand Villages (local fair-trade non-profit), helping run church support groups and prison ministries, and participating in numerous volunteer trips to a Mexican orphanage. In many ways, Myrna’s life was spent reflecting to those around her the love and compassion of her Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Special thanks to the compassionate and caring staff at Youville Home and AgeCare Jasper Place where Myrna spent her last year.
Myrna’s Celebration of Life will be held at St. Albert Alliance Church on Saturday, May 30th, at 2:00 pm.

She was a blessing not only to her family but to all of us who knew her. She remains a testimony of God lead life for all of us to follow.

Love to Uncle Carey and the family as you gather to celebrate such an amazing woman of God who lived her life fully for her Saviour, her family, her friends, and the community. This is truly a life to honour.

Keith, my condolences. So many concerts I sat with your Mom and Dad, listening to Sadie Braun talk about her Fab Four boys. Your Mom was always so supportive, attending all the concerts and applauding vigorously. She always had a smile and was so warm and welcoming.
Thanks so much Eileen – I appreciate your kind words about my mom.
Myrna will surely be missed, but the influence and mark she left on many people’s lives will carry on. Praying for the family.
Thank you Cheryl. Thank you very much for coming and for what you said.

I have fond memories of Myrna attending our wedding and having quiet moments visiting with her at office holiday parties. She was always so kind and supportive of me and those around her.
Darrell and I were honoured to attend Carey and Myrna’s 60th wedding anniversary celebration and witness the love of family and friends surrounding the couple.

Sincere condolences from the Andrew and Florence Nielsen family. Mom and Dad were friends to you, Carey and Myrna and your children. Thank you. Darleen and I remember Carey doing an emergency house call to our son, Jeffrey , at two years of age. Jeff will be fifty this year. We also remember you being neighbors to Keith and Sharon.
