Lorraine Margaret O’BALL

April 26, 1947- Sept 20, 2026

Lorraine passed away peacefully at St Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital, in Edmonton Alberta on Sunday September 20, 2026.

She is predeceased by her parents Peter and Alice O’Ball, siblings, Randy O’Ball (Nina), Shirley Clapp (Donald).

Survived by sister Eloise O’Ball, nephew Barry Clapp (Jeannie), niece Beth Hughes (John), nephew, Bradley Clapp (Valerie), nephew, William O’Ball, nephew Brian O’Ball, niece, Eryn Pert (David), and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Lorraine lived her early years with family in Radway and Boyle Alberta. As an adult she settled in Edmonton where she lived a dynamic life in the city centre.

Lorraine’s career lasted over 40 years. She worked for Northern Alberta Railways, the federal government of Canada, in human resources for the provincial government, and as an Alberta probation officer. Lorraine retired from work in 2012.

Passions and interests included: cooking, especially traditional Ukrainian foods, baking, cake decorating, sewing, going to the latest movies and playing card games. Lorraine loved to use her creativity. Many fondly remember her hosting her famous “Stitch and Bitch” craft get together events with numerous friends and family. Lorraine liked to keep busy socially, loved shopping and especially giving gifts.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Pointe West Cremation and Funeral Service, 15305- 112 Avenue NW, Edmonton, Alberta on Wednesday November 18 at 11:00 am. Please join us for refreshments following the service.
