Rosemary Dianne PARADIS

Rosemary Dianne Paradis

April 30, 1949 – August 10, 2026

Rosemary Dianne Paradis passed away on August 10, 2026 at the tender age of 77.

Rosemary Dianne Paradis was born on April 30, 1949, in Grande Prairie, Alberta. She grew up in Crooked Creek, Alberta, on a farm with 4 siblings. She then became a schoolteacher, and had two children, with her 1st husband of 42 years. She resided in the Castle Downs area of Edmonton, and then the neighbourhood of Strathern, also in Edmonton.

In 2015, Rosemary married her loving husband of over 11 years, Edmond. Following a series of strokes, Rosemary fought a valiant fight, and showed remarkable strength and tenacity, to better her condition. She really showed everyone around her, the meaning of courage, and how to live for each day, as a gift from God. She was a kind and beautiful wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, to all who knew her.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Edmond; her daughter Lisa, her son David (Dominika); her grandchildren; Rachel, Alexandra, Emily and Lucas. She is also remembered by her stepchildren, Adrian (Trisha); Amber (Kevin), and Chad (Natalie). And her step-grandchildren; Edwin, Evan, Rebecca, Emily, Lydia, and Taylor.

Rosemary Dianne Paradis was predeceased by her parents, Frank Ratzlaff, and Anne Kalaman, and her brother Jerry Ratzlaff.

Rosemary loved to do a variety of activities, most of which involved exercise and the outdoors. Rosemary and Ed, could often be found at the gym, biking around Spruce Grove, or spending their time in the garden, or traveling by car or motorcycle, to meet friends and family. Rosemary was a great athlete, playing basketball in both high school and University. She loved her family more than anything, and really showed us the meaning of family love and loyalty. She also loved to read, and paint when she was younger. Her faith in God and Jesus, was also of great importance to her, and she truly was a kind, loving, and faithful person to every person who knew her.

Her strength, honesty, faith, warmth, humour, and tremendous love for her family, will be greatly missed by all, who were lucky enough to know her. May her loved ones live by her warm example, as we move forward in life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Rosemary’s honour to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.

I remember Rosemary fondly back in ‘the day’. How she laughed when she caught Lisa and I backing out of the driveway in her Mustang. And how gentle and kind she was when she took Lisa and I (teenagers)on vacation to Sylvan Lake with her. (Brave woman) she will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her.
