Sheridan Rose Platt passed away on March 18 at the Grey Nuns Hospital with her loving husband by her side. Sheridan was born on August 4, 1961. She was the oldest child to her mother Loretta. Sheridan had brother Darcy, sister Holly, brother Kyle and sister Leslie growing up with her in Edmonton Alberta.
Sheridan was a mother to all and a mentor to many. Her kindness will never be forgotten. Her drive will live on forever. She adored her grandchildren and always loved them to pieces.
Sheridan is survived by her husband of 38 years Chris. Children Micheal, Ashleigh, Iszabella (Brayden) and Austin. Brother Darcy (Cheryl), sister Holly, brother Kyle (Lynn) (Dorothy). Granddaughter Shyla, grandson Elias, and granddaughter Malia - Rose.
Sheridan was predeceased by mother Loretta, and sister Leslie.
In loving memory of my dear mother, Sheridan, who peacefully departed to be with the Lord on March 18, with my devoted father by her side.
Over the past four years, Mom fought a hard battle, bravely facing an infection, stroke, heart attack, and broken femur. Her passing came unexpectedly, leaving us all heartbroken and longing for the many more years we thought we would have together.
Watching Mom navigate these challenges was both heartbreaking and beautiful. Despite the adversity, she overcame each obstacle with grace and resilience. I had the privilege of witnessing her deepening bond with my husband and her unparalleled love for my dad.
Mom was the epitome of an incredible woman—kind, patient, loving, and fiercely loyal. I learned so much from her, shaping who I am as a wife and mother. Her selflessness extended beyond our family, as she dedicated her life to helping others.
Growing up, Mom was my constant companion. From sharing laughs over new TV series to running errands together, we did everything as a team. She made every holiday and birthday special, pouring her heart into finding the perfect gifts and meals.
Mom's love for her grandchildren, Elias and Malia-Rose, was boundless. Elias shared a special bond with her, finding joy in her embrace and learning from her wisdom. Mom was overjoyed to meet Malia-Rose, holding both her grandchildren with pride and love.
The void left by Mom's passing is immeasurable. I'll miss our daily conversations, her guidance, and her infectious laughter. Her absence is felt in the kitchen, where her cooking and baking skills were unrivaled, and in the joyful moments with Elias and Malia-Rose.
Though Mom is no longer with us, her legacy of love and strength lives on. I am grateful for the 27 years I had with her, and I find comfort in knowing she is finally at peace.
This isn't goodbye, Mom. I take solace in the belief that we will be reunited in heaven one day. Until then, I carry your love in my heart always.
With all my love,
Iszabella, Brayden, Elias, and Malia-Rose Teale
"Once in a meadow .
I saw her once in a meadow.
With an unmatched beauty that glows. From her head down to her toes.
All of the world now knows.
Her name is Sheridan Rose.
Once in a meadow.
I saw her once in a meadow.
I think of her all day and all night. In the darkness she brings light.
When I get her in my sight. Everything that seems wrong becomes right.
Once in a meadow.
I saw her once in a meadow.
Now that she is gone from my side. My remaining time on earth I will bide .
She will be my guide. As I take my last ride.
Once in a meadow.
I will soon meet you once in a heavenly meadow.”
Yours forever Chris.

I am grateful for every moment I had the privilege to spend with Sheridan. She was not only a wonderful mother-in-law but also a cherished grandmother to our children. I feel fortunate to have built a meaningful relationship with her, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Your presence in our lives will forever be treasured. You will be deeply missed.
Always and forever in our hearts and memories.
She was a woman of many talents and many responsibilities. She powered through each one like no other.
When I was 12 I lost my birthmother, but little did I know that I was getting a second one. A second chance, a second chance to a brand-new life and a brand-new hope. She took me and my siblings in without a second thought or a even a little hesitation, because in her eyes we were already such a huge part of her life as she was ours.
She brought me back to life in so many ways. She gave the hopes of graduating and hopes of getting healthy both mentally and physically. She was my teacher my aunt my mom and many more things. One thing she always will be is the biggest role model for me, as she was for many and will continue to be.
Throughout her entire life she wore many hats and the biggest hat she wore was caregiver. She had the biggest heart she never turned away anyone. She had a hand in raising practically everyone in her family, including myself.
Even when she was fighting her battle of her own health and wellness she never turned me away, she welcomed me back with open arms and gave a home all over again.
Her legacy will continue to live on throughout the hearts of many.
One day we will see you again. Until then we will live life the way you would have wanted us too and show the world love and respect the way you would have.
Lots of love Ashleigh Mendryk
