It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Raymond Hardy Priestman on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Evelyn (née Weslosky) for 49 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Nancy (Grodesky) and Anne Marie (Virag), his sister-in-law Liz, his nephews David (Kim) and Kevin (Natasha) Grodesky, Paul (Sharon) Priestman, nieces Cathy (Mike) Rafter and Cindy Leonard, 9 great-nephews/nieces, 2 great-great nephew/niece and his godson James Hogan. Predeceased by his parents Russell and Helen (née Cavanaugh), his stepmother Molly Priestman and his brothers Ken and Ralph.

Ray was very active in scouting. He had a true gift of leading young men on life’s trail, teaching them many things about scouting, camping, and life in general. An avid painter, he found inspiration by observing the world around him on the many trips he took with his beloved wife, Evelyn.

Ray will be sadly missed and always remembered for his love of family and friends and his sense of humour.

Following Ray’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private spreading of his ashes will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to The Canadian Diabetes Association – Research Dept. would be greatly appreciated.
