Steven Michael REDDICK
Steven Michael Reddick
1976 – 2024
It is with profound sorrow that the family of Steven Michael Reddick announces his passing on February 8, 2024, after a bravely fought battle with cancer.
Steve was born on the West Coast of BC and grew up on Vancouver Island, but easily made the change to ‘Prairie Boy’ (although that first Alberta winter was a bit of a shock to his senses). He had a varied work career in BC: mechanic; cameraman for a BC television station; freelance photographer; and video producer. Steve met the love of his life, Laurie, in 2000, and in 2004 he moved to Alberta to continue building his life with her. He took on a position with CityTV in Calgary for a time, eventually transferring to the Edmonton station and settling in St. Albert to raise his family. Finally, Steve found his work home with Northlands (later Explore Edmonton) managing events and exhibits. He took great pride in building his role and making contacts with people from all over.
Steve was many things to many people – husband, son, brother, uncle, friend – but his most cherished role was being a father to his three sons, who he counted as his greatest accomplishments. His pride in his boys was evident in everything he said and did, and in every choice he made.
Steve faced his diagnosis with courage and humour, determined to give the best he could for as long as he could to his family. His deep love for his family gave him strength even on his hardest days, and those who knew him and loved him are grateful for the light and laughter he brought into all of our lives.
Steve is lovingly remembered by his wife Laurie and their sons Gage, Austin, and Tyson, as well as his parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. Though he can no longer walk alongside us, he will remain in our hearts forever.
In keeping with Steve’s wishes, cremation and an intimate family gathering has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a future date, with details to follow.

Was looking you up to see what became of the first cam op I was ever professionally tethered to and found this. I’m speechless. We had some good times on the road brother. You’re part of the reason I made it dude. Without you sticking up for my first shaky day of run and gun sound I’d have never had the privilege of smacking a hundred year old chandelier with a boom pole in the Alberta Premiere’s office while a bunch of delegates looked on in horror. I have enough photos if me passed out in White Snake to do a road gig narcolepsy calendar for a decade cause of you! You struck the right balance between professional and fun and my early days in media we better for it. This is heartbreaking news. Condolences to your family Steve. I’ll miss you man!
