Rose Marie SIGMETH
It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my wonderful mother, Rose on December 19, 2020, at the age of 93.
Rose is survived by her loving daughter Charlene. Rose was predeceased by her husband John in 1992. She was also predeceased by her parents Gustav and Margaret Koch (nee Keller) and her three brothers, Joe, Andy, and Johnny. Rose is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many of Charlene’s friends who she adored.
Rose married John Sigmeth on October 31, 1950 and together they farmed just south of Bethune, Saskatchewan for many years. They had their only daughter and child later in life and retired in Bethune. Later on, when their daughter graduated from high school they moved to Regina. Rose remained in Regina until Charlene relocated to Edmonton and then Rose moved to Edmonton as well. She spent the last two and a half years at Miller Crossing Care Centre in Edmonton until her passing.
Rose was a very good cook and baker. She loved playing bingo and loved listening and dancing to her old-time music. Her polkas were her favorite. Rose was a kind, caring, fun, generous, gentle, and strong woman. She was a devoted wife and mother, always supporting and encouraging her only child. She was a gracious lady and accepted every person she met.
Her daughter would like to thank everyone for their care and concern. Also thank you to Miller Crossing Care Centre. At Rose’s request there will be no service.
“Now there will be a lot of polka dances in Heaven. You will be greatly missed until we meet again!”
