Charles SHOTT

Charles Shott born April 2nd 1945, passed away on July 23, 2026 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 81. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He brought joy to family gatherings and community events with the lively strains of his fiddle, filling rooms with music and laughter for decades.
Born in Lac La Biche, Charles lived a life rich in family, music, and simple pleasures. Whether at family reunions, local dances, or just sitting with friends and family, his music wove together generations and created lasting memories for all who knew him.
He is survived by his children Russell (Kayleigh) Rhonda, Darryl, and Karl (Brandy), Grandchildren Ally, Karen, Colton, Daniel, Glory-Ann, Jay, Katie, Damon, Montana, Brittney, Braedyn, Kael, Cameron, and Leah; Sister Mary-Jean Desjarlais, as well as numerous great grandchildren, neices, nephews and cousins. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Esther Shott, Son Ricky Shott Parents Sam and Victoria Shott, sisters Doreen Howse, Lilian Judd, Violet Shott, brothers Cliff Shott and Mike Shott, maternal grandparents Charlie and Caroline Ladouceur, paternal grandparents John and Marie Shott, Nephews Ryan Judd, Earl Shott, Trevor Cardinal, Rodney Cardinal, Niece Camillia Shott brother in law Gilbert Howse.
The wake will be held at Buffalo Lake Metis Settlement Gymnasium Friday July 31st at 3:00pm followed by the Funeral on Saturday August 1st at 10:00 am.
Charles Shott was our personal superman. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His melody lingers in the hearts of all who loved him.
