Premlata Shukla

November 12 1933 – December 3 2023

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Mrs. Premlata Shukla, wife of late J.P. Shukla.

Mrs. Shukla passed away peacefully in her sleep and had been with her family in her final days.

Born and raised in India, she raised two children and followed her passion of music by learning Indian classical music. She had to start all over at the age of fifty following her move to Canada but she did that with grace and dignity. She had a long and successful career at Eatons, West Edmonton Mall. She learned to drive at the age of fifty and continued to drive until the age of eighty seven when her arthritis restricted her daily activities. She remained fiercely independent and passionate about her family and friends.

She is survived by her children Kalpna Pye and Sanjay Shukla as well as grandchildren Anand Pye, Arun Pye (Madeleine Pye), May Shukla and Jason Shukla and a great granddaughter Delilah Pye.
