Shirley Genevie STUPAR
Shirley Genevie Stupar 08.31.31 – 12.15.23 (Lord Bird)
Our Mother/Nanny/Great Nanny, Shirley Genevie Stupar, reunited herself with her love of her life, Maggiolino, on December 15th, 2023.
Shirley is survived by her 4 sons, Lino (Corrine), Reginald (Lynne), Peter (Jackie), and Glenn (Lisa).
She is also survived by her grandchildren; Lyndsay, Lee, Geoffrey, Cameron, Katrina, Paxton, Jenaya, Jessica, Keisha, and Brock, along with 6 great-grandchildren.
Shirley was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, One of 9 children. Her parents were Ethel and Edward Terrio. She has one surviving sibling, her sister, Helen. Shirley met her future husband, Maggiolino in 1951. They married November 8, 1952 and lived in the Halifax area until 1972, before moving the Stupar clan to Newmarket, Ontario for the next 5 years, then moving to Spruce Grove, Alberta in 1977.
Shirley was always there for her family, and she loved to make sure that we never left her place hungry. She was admired for her great cabbage rolls, her pasta sauce, and her stew. Shirley’s quick wit humor was always cherished along with her unique one-liners. Shirley loved to sing, one trait that none of us will ever forget.
We would like to give special thanks to the staff of the Good Samaritan Society of Stony Plain, who took fabulous care of Shirley over the last 8 years of her life.
PSALM 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want, He maketh to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the lord forever.
Gone from the Earth, but singing in the Heavens now, we will never forget you!!
