Susan Lee THOMPSON
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Susan Lee Thompson, a devoted Buddhist, a lover of books and music, and large, beautiful trees. She was also a passionate Edmonton Oilers hockey fan.
She left us peacefully on January 12th 2025.
Born on December 1st, 1950, in Edmonton, Alberta, Susan lived a life rooted in deep faith and compassion. Her commitment to Buddhism was unwavering, and she embodied its principles of peace, kindness, and mindfulness every day. Susan found strength in her practice, always seeking to bring balance and tranquility to those around her. Her faith was a source of comfort and guidance, not only to her but to all who were fortunate to know her.
Susan will be remembered for her kindness, strength of character, and unshakable faith. Her presence in this world made it a better place, and her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire all who knew her. She leaves behind two sisters Trish (Lisa), Wendy (Bill), nephew Zachary (Clifton), niece Megan (Casey), two great nieces Alexis and Savanna, one great nephew Wyatt, as well as many friends who cherished her and a community that will miss her deeply. She is preceded in death by her parents Ed and Sybil Thompson.
A special thanks to Susan’s dear friend Mavis Booker and spouse, Bill Barclay, who have shown so much love and support to her family during this difficult time.
May she rest in peace.
