Darcy Donald VANGEN
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Son, Grandpa, Uncle Darcy Vangen on December 24th at the age of 59.
Darcy was born in Hebert, Saskatchewan, on November 10, 1964. He was a happy cuddling baby, very mischievous and a little rebel. Darcy grew up in Swift Current. He loved vehicles at an early age, loved riding tractors, bikes, snowmobiling, and motocross. Many adventures were in Okanagan Canyon and Yellowstone Park. Darcy rebuilt a Camaro he was very proud of.
Darcy moved to Regina where he worked in the food industry as a cook. He later moved to Edmonton where he spent many years. Darcy was not set on living in Edmonton, and moved to Grande Prairie where he started a job in medical EMS. Later on, he accomplished his biggest achievement which was obtaining his Class 1. Darcy loved driving truck, seeing the views and hauling anything from sand, oil, pipe or saw dust. Darcy had many hobbies as many would know but he had a huge heart for drawing & was an avid pool & billiard player. He even had his own pool cue.
Darcy spent his last birthday with his mother, sister, and Kathy at his mom’s home in Swift Current. This was his first trip home after losing his father two years earlier.
Darcy was predeceased by his father Ray in 2021. He is survived by his mother Cheryl, sister Jacqueline (Brian) Swift Current, Brother Blake (Tracy) Nassau, Sons Dexter Utah and Micheal Edmonton Daughter Alexis (Isaac) Edmonton, Grandchildren Chloe, Jaxon and Alayna. Nephews Bobby, Randel, Brandon and numerous aunts and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Slovenian Hall, 16703-66 Street, Edmonton, AB.
